Seán O'Rourke has spent over a decade proving that age isn't a
barrier to cycling adventure. As a Senior Outdoor Leisure
Correspondent at aihaircutsimulator Digital Ltd, he's tested hundreds of
kilometers across Ireland's greenways—particularly the Royal
Canal corridor—documenting every rest point, accessibility
feature, and scenic highlight that matters to older riders. His
work isn't theoretical. It's built on real experience, honest
feedback, and a genuine understanding of the physical and
confidence-related challenges that can keep seniors off their
bikes.
What sets Seán apart isn't just his expertise—it's his approach.
He grew up in Maynooth, cycling the Royal Canal as a kid, and
that connection never faded. After earning his degree in Sports
and Exercise Science from University College Dublin, he
initially worked with Sport Ireland's community engagement team
designing accessible activity programmes for adults aged 55 and
over. That's where he noticed the gap: reliable, detailed
information about flat, low-impact routes suited to older
cyclists. He's spent the last 12 years filling that gap, one
kilometer at a time.
